We started the day with available light technique…
(‘work with what you have’ lesson) then we explored how best to utilise a cheapo Rm2.50 polystirene to reflect back sunlight so as to lift up some shadows on the face…
We explored the difference between lens focal length and it’s resulting perspective…
…before gradually moved to adding artificial lights to compliment the existing lights to add separation between foreground subject and the background…
Once everyone unnerstand all that, we explored using flash light to create ‘mood’…
Wanna see the lighting arrangement?
Here it is…
…it’s a simple 2 light set-up with one SB unit fired from inside a softbox and another SB unit with blue gel on. Both light were triggered with a Pocket Wizard Plus II transceiver.
Here’s a feedback from one of the participant: awokpenyu
(edited 06.08.09) here’s another feedback: harris
Even tho we had a jolly good time, eventually all good thing must come to an end. Before we leave tho, we made a group photo, recorded by Bakhtiar my No. 1 Assistant, for posterity…
