While I was in Mulu last weekend, I shot Bel & Mel with some ATVs….

Mel & Bel …
Photography & Art Direction: Ted Adnan of Ted Adnan Photography & Design
Post: the Ariffin dewd the HDR Master, who lives here btw ![]()
Gear used: Sony Alpha DSLR A700 with Carl Zeiss 16-80mm lens
I attached a Sony F36 flash on the A700 to provided fill while a Nikon SB-800 provided the required sidelighting. The SB-800 (which was hand held by a human light stand, namely, one of Teman production crew) was fired off camera and it was triggered via Pocket Wizard Plus II thats attached to the camera as well.I take care NOT to flooded the whole scene with light so I zoomed the SB-800 flash to 50mm just to light up the area that I wanted lah. I should’ve zoomed the flash direct to 105mm but I prefer to err on the safe side, so, while in PS I burned in additional areas that were lighted so the attention is directed towards Bel & Mel.
But I’m not done with the image yet, so I turned it over to my assistant Ariffin who did the additional post work and the result can be seen here lah.
cool pix.. i like it
Wow! I like this shot
thnaks bananakk and the macdude dewd earlier today I made an A3 print from the softcopy lah
cayalah broooo!!! bravoooo bravooo!!!
i like the cloud!
norlie,
it was quite late (we forgot the time difference between peninsular Malaysia anf the Borneo half of the country) and the sun already dissappeared behind the clouds and it was started to drizzle slightly as well!
Thats how lah I got the clouds there, the details being brought up by a high shutter speed (low light level, high shutter speed, the picture will be underexposed
) yet both Bel & Mel being lit up by the flash.
Like I said, easy. Everyone can do it.
