Where I was last weekend… (Mt Rinjani “leisure” photography hiking trip with Luar Biasa Group, 23~28 Jun 2012)

Where I was last weekend, I get to enjoy this view…

..where I was, last weekend…

..at the expense of my (left) knee, my calfs, my thighs and my boots…

…a pair of Columbia boots after a 3 days hike in Mt Rinjani, yesterday…

since this was a “leisurely” photography trip (we call ourselves Team Vanilla, but pretty soon the slowest of the bunch, moi included, formed our own sub group dubbed Team Vanilla Lite. Our motto: ‘a wee bit faster than Slow’ whoah hahah) I put all my gears (Nikon D700, 24-70 Nikkors, 16mm fisheye, 1x SB800, 1x SB900, 2x PW Plus 2, an Epson P2500, about a dozen rechargeble Eneelop AAs batteries, extra batt for the Epson, extra batt for the Nikon D700, a headlamp, a handheld torch, a Northface windbreaker, a balaclava (red, my fav colour), a pair of gloves, an assortment of supplements, loadsa oats based biscuit in min packs and some knicks and knacks and odds and ends oso…) into my Lowepro Flipside 500AW.

This is my first mountain hiking photography trip in years, so I take it easy. NO, I didn’t reached the summit as that wasn’t my plan in the first place (with my bad knee and all), but I got to enjoy some magnificent sunset, subhanallah…
